Why families choose us

Small enough to know every child by name

We are not a chain. Little Learners has been run by the same family since 2009, and that shows in the way your child is cared for every single day.

A key person who really knows them

Every child has their own key person — the same friendly face who settles them in, learns their likes and worries, and keeps you in the loop.

Learning that feels like playing

Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, but to your child it simply looks like painting, singing, digging and stories.

Hours that fit real working life

Open 7am to 6pm every weekday, all year round. Full days, half days or flexible hours — and we will happily work around shift patterns.

Funding sorted, without the headache

15 and 30 funded hours, Tax-Free Childcare, stretched funding across the year — we will work out exactly what you are owed and help you claim it.

Ofsted, June 2024

Our rooms

The right space at every stage

Children move up when they are ready — never just because of a birthday — with plenty of visits first.

Babies

Tiny explorers

A small, calm room where sleep and feeding follow your routine, not ours.

  • A deliberately small group, so there is always a lap free
  • Daily updates on sleeps, bottles, nappies and milestones
  • Treasure baskets, messy play and lots of singing
  • Your own key person from the very first settling-in visit
Toddlers

Busy discoverers

The year of "me do it" — we give them safe space to try, wobble and try again.

  • Early talking and listening woven through every activity
  • Gentle support with potty training when you are ready
  • Outdoor play in all weathers — puddles included
  • Making friends, taking turns and naming big feelings
Pre-school

Nearly-school-ready

Confident, curious children who walk into reception ready to learn.

  • Phonics, early number and name writing through games
  • Self-care skills: coats, shoes, lunches, toilets
  • Serving their own lunch and tidying their own things
  • Close links with local primary schools for a smooth move
Free childcare hours

Most families here pay far less than they expect

Working parents can now get 30 funded hours a week from nine months old. Our calculator tells you exactly what your child is entitled to, when it starts, and what a week with us would really cost — in about thirty seconds.

  • See your funded hours and the exact date they begin
  • Compare term-time only against stretched, all-year hours
  • Includes the Tax-Free Childcare top-up
  • No email address needed — it is just there to use

A day with us

Predictable rhythm, plenty of freedom

Young children settle when they know what comes next. Our day has a steady shape — and inside it, lots of room for children to follow what fascinates them.

7:00 – 8:30

Doors open, breakfast together

A calm, cuddly start with breakfast and quiet play while everyone arrives.

9:00

Welcome time

Songs, the weather, who is here today, and what we are going to explore.

9:30 – 11:30

Play, projects and outdoors

Adult-led activities alongside free play, and time outside whatever the weather.

11:45

Lunch

A freshly cooked meal at the table together — older children serve themselves.

12:30 – 2:30

Sleep and quiet time

Naps for those who need them; stories and calm activities for those who do not.

3:00 – 6:00

Snack, more play, home time

Afternoon adventures, then a proper handover so you know how the day went.
